June 2026 Astrology & Insights: Wisdom of the heart…

After so much astrological activity last month, June offers us a bit of respite. The first few weeks are relatively quiet, with energy gradually picking up mid-month as Venus enters Leo on the 13th, just before the Gemini full moon on the 14th. As the Sun enters Cancer on the 21st, it squares the first quarter moon in Libra, offering opportunities for growth through our relationships with others.

At the end of the month, the Capricorn full moon arrives on the same day as Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer, bringing a reality check that asks us to balance our emotions with practicality.

The most significant transit occurs when Jupiter moves into Leo on the 30th, redefining our values in a profound way. This shift is amplified by its opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, highlighting a collective tension between external narratives of authority and what we know in our hearts to be true and just.

Benevolent Jupiter in Leo will be with us for about a year. What we do with this inspiring, expansive energy is up to us. On an individual level, this is a time of both challenges and deep personal transformation. This transit is encouraging us to view our experiences through a higher level of awareness and transmute them into meaningful growth and direction.

At the collective level, this transit highlights a growing tension between the voices of those in positions of power and influence, and the lived experiences and values of everyday people. Decisions made at higher levels do not always reflect what individuals feel is fair, sustainable, or aligned with their needs. There is a growing disconnect between leadership/policy and the needs of the people it is meant to serve.

It’s not just about us anymore, or us versus them. It’s about rising to the challenges that we are all facing and using our individual voices and talents within the collective to inspire positive change for the greater good.

June 1 – Mercury Enters Cancer

Heart-centered communication

When Mercury moves into Cancer, conversations become more reflective, and heart-centered. We may find ourselves thinking more about home and family, as well as other close connections that make us feel safe and understood. Mercury is especially intuitive in Cancer, so logic can take a backseat to intuition during this transit. Pay attention to gut feelings and emotional undercurrents in your interactions, but be mindful of making assumptions without knowing all the facts

At its best, Mercury in Cancer supports compassionate, sincere communication and reconnecting with people we may have drifted away from. This transit may also bring about changes or decisions regarding our home and loved ones. You may decide this is the right time to relocate, make renovations or begin planning a long-overdue family vacation or reunion.

The shadow side of this transit is emotional reactivity. People may be more sensitive than usual, so be mindful of jokes or comments that could unintentionally cause hurt feelings, and choose your words carefully when emotions are running high.

June 13 – Venus Enters Leo

The bold and the beautiful

Venus is bold and expressive in Leo, bringing warmth, creativity, romance, and a desire to enjoy life. After the quieter emotional tone of Venus in Cancer last month, this shift feels more sexy, playful and confident. People may be more willing to put themselves out there and/or be more open about their feelings.

This is a beautiful transit for art, music, performance, fashion, and self-expression of all kinds. Leo reminds us that our joy matters too. What gets you out of bed in the morning? What makes life worth living? There’s nothing wrong with wanting to celebrate yourself, take pride in your talents, and bask in the light of being seen and appreciated for who you are. If you’ve been thinking about making a change to your appearance, now would be an auspicious time to do so.

Relationships can feel more passionate under this influence, as long as the appreciation and effort are mutual. Venus in Leo loves to love, but she also requires that her brilliance be recognized. Woe to those who take a lover for granted when Venus is in Leo. If slighted or ignored, frustration can build, leading to hurt feelings and drama. And nobody does drama like Venus in Leo! Don’t wait too long to make things right, this energy doesn’t wait around. Honest communication and a sincere apology accompanied by a grand gesture, of course, will get things back on track. Have fun!

June 14 – Gemini New Moon

Mental motivation

This Gemini new moon brings fresh mental energy and a desire for movement, learning, and connection. This is an ideal time to set intentions centered around communication, writing, studying, networking, or trying something new that sparks your interest.

If you receive an invitation to a party, class, or event around this time, consider saying yes! Stepping outside of your usual routine may lead to opportunities you would not have encountered otherwise. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

Gemini is a mutable air sign, making it highly adaptable and quick-thinking. However, it can also have a tendency to jump from one thing to the next before fully completing what was already started. This new moon best supports short term goals or larger plans that are broken down into smaller, manageable milestones.

June 21 – Sun Enters Cancer

Strong, intuitive, nurturing

Cancer season shifts our attention inward toward emotional well-being, home life, and the relationships that support us. After the busy and mentally stimulating pace of Gemini season, Cancer reminds us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves on a deeper level.

This year, as the Sun moves into Cancer on the 21st, it forms a square to the first quarter moon in Libra. This energy highlights the balance between our personal needs and the expectations of others within our relationships. Situations involving family, partnerships, or close friendships may reveal where adjustments need to be made.

This can be a productive period for emotional growth if we are willing to approach situations honestly and with maturity. Cancer reminds us that vulnerability is not weakness. Meaningful growth often happens when we have the courage to express how we truly feel rather than expecting others to instinctively know. While opening up can feel uncomfortable, honest communication helps create healthier boundaries and allows us to stop carrying emotional burdens or unspoken obligations that do not belong to us.

Transit: June 21 – July 22

June 29 – Mercury Retrograde in Cancer

That was then, this is now

Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer, turning our attention inward and toward the past. This retrograde asks us to slow down and reflect on the best course of action, rather than allowing our emotions to take the wheel.

Because Cancer is deeply tied to home and family, this retrograde may present new perspectives or changes involving the people closest to us, our living situation, and long-standing emotional patterns. A memory, person, or situation reminiscent of the past may resurface, offering an opportunity to close out a particular chapter in your life. In doing so, you may come to better understand who you are now and how you want to move forward differently.

Transit: June 29 – July 23

June 29 – Capricorn Full Moon

A reality check

On the same day Mercury retrograde begins, the Capricorn full moon gives us a reality check. This energy combination can cause tension between what feels emotionally comfortable and what is realistically necessary. Some people may recognize where they have been overextending themselves, while others may realize it’s time to take greater ownership of their future or personal goals. This full moon energy may feel heavy as it places the weight of responsibility square on our shoulders, but it can also be incredibly liberating. Capricorn energy doesn’t seek validation from others; it focuses on what needs to be done and follows through.

Full moons often bring culminations, endings, or moments of clarity. Under Capricorn, we may gain a more realistic understanding of where we stand and what is required to move forward. This lunation encourages us to focus less on instant results and more on building something meaningful over time. The decisions and commitments we make now can have lasting effects in the months ahead.

June 30 – Jupiter Enters Leo

Courage is contagious

The biggest shift of the month arrives as Jupiter enters Leo, where it will remain for about a year. This marks the beginning of a cycle centered around themes of courage, creativity, leadership, and authentic self-expression. Leo energy encourages us to reconnect with what makes us feel alive and inspired.

Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and in Leo, it invites us to step out of the shadows and be seen. Some keywords for this transit are confidence, visibility, art, entertainment, romance, and personal empowerment. As individuals, many people will feel called to take creative risks, share their talents more openly, or step into leadership roles they previously avoided.

At the collective level, Jupiter’s opposition to Pluto in Aquarius creates tension between individual truth and external systems of power or control. Questions surrounding influence, technology, leadership, and collective values may become impossible to ignore. There can be a strong push-pull effect between conforming to outside expectations and narratives, versus listening to what feels deeply true within ourselves.

Leo reminds us that the heart has wisdom too. Over the next year, we are being asked to rediscover personal agency and remember that individual sovereignty, originality, and courage still matter. This energy is not about ego or superiority. It’s about recognizing the unique role each person plays within the larger collective story, and finding meaningful ways to contribute our gifts, voices, talents, and humanity to the greater good of a rapidly changing world.
