July 2026 Astrology & Insights: Trust the Process

With two powerful retrogrades and a few challenging aspects in play, this is a month that’s more about strategic adjustments rather than unbridled acceleration. The 2026 Fire Horse energy is providing plenty of momentum, but it may feel uneven or hard to fully direct at times, as plans may shift in light of new information. While this can test our patience, it also helps reveal what is actually workable versus what was built on assumption or urgency. By the end of the month, a more defined set of priorities begins to take shape, offering clear choices about what is worth continuing and what is ready to be released.

July 7 | Neptune Retrograde in Aries

A peek behind the curtain

Neptune stations retrograde in Aries on July 7, beginning a five-month period of reflection centered around themes of independence, personal identity, and both collective and individual ambitions. As one of the outer planets, Neptune’s influence tends to unfold gradually, shaping larger cultural shifts while also influencing our personal ideals and sense of purpose. Since entering Aries earlier this year, Neptune has been inspiring visions of who we want to become and what we want to create in this new 13-year cycle.

Neptune retrograde encourages us to peek behind the curtain, much like in The Wizard of Oz, so that we can separate genuine inspiration from illusion.

Collectively, this energy has been initiating conversations regarding leadership, courage, and self-determination. On the shadow side, Neptune in Aries can produce cult-like groups and martyr-driven movements inspired by charismatic leaders with lofty ideals. Neptune retrograde encourages us to peek behind the curtain, much like in The Wizard of Oz, so that we can separate genuine inspiration from illusion.

Over the coming months, we may begin to see where promises have been exaggerated, where appearances have overshadowed reality, and where blind faith has replaced critical thinking. This transit invites us to question what we’re being asked to believe, who we’re choosing to follow, and whether our actions are aligned with our own values rather than someone else’s vision.

On a personal level, as Neptune goes retrograde, it asks us to imagine what is possible when we trust ourselves enough to pursue a new path. We’re asked to take an honest look beyond the hype of our ego and expectations and examine whether our actions support those dreams. This transit can help reveal what’s genuine and what’s simply wishful thinking. It gives us a chance to step back, reflect, and see the bigger picture and perhaps the honest truth, more clearly.

Transit: July 7 – December 12

July 9 | Venus enters Virgo

Actions speak louder than words

Venus enters Virgo on July 9, bringing our attention to the practical side of love, money, and daily life. Venus in Virgo reminds us that care is often shown through actions rather than words. This transit encourages us to focus on what is useful, supportive, and sustainable. You may feel motivated to organize your finances, improve your health habits and routines, or pay closer attention to detail within important relationships.

Virgo is a mutable earth sign. Mutable signs refine and improve upon what already exists, while earth signs are concerned with tangible results and the realities of the physical world. Together, this combination favors steady progress over quick fixes. Venus in Virgo reminds us that small daily adjustments can create lasting results and improvements over time.

Transit: July 9 – August 6

July 14 | New Moon in Cancer

Patience is a virtue

The Cancer New Moon on July 14 offers an opportunity to reconnect with what makes you feel supported and emotionally grounded. Cancerian themes of home, family, sense of belonging, and personal security may come into focus. While New Moons typically encourage fresh starts, this one carries a little more weight due to its more challenging aspects to Saturn, Venus, and Uranus.

If you’re building something important around the time of this New Moon, it may require extra patience, flexibility, and commitment. Progress could unfold more gradually than you’d like, and unexpected detours may reveal areas that need adjustment before moving forward. Rather than viewing these delays as setbacks, consider them opportunities to strengthen your plans and create a more stable foundation.

Trust the process. You may not see results as quickly as you’d like, but what you’re working on now is more likely to last if you resist the temptation to take shortcuts and allow it to develop properly.

July 22 | Sun enters Leo

All the world is a stage

The Sun in Leo reminds us that it’s okay to step back from the seriousness of life and have some fun. What do you love to do, and why aren’t you doing it? The Sun’s conjunction with Jupiter adds a larger-than-life quality to this transit, amplifying our confidence, desire to be seen, and creative momentum. No more waiting in the wings! You are not the understudy, you are the star! It’s time to step into the role you were meant to play.

The area of your chart where this transit occurs shows where this potent energy will be most noticeable.

The sign of Leo corresponds to the heart which has a wisdom of its own. It knows when something feels “right” and when it does not. It’s our guide that leads us with courage rather than fear.

On the world stage at the macro level, the Sun in Leo conjunct Jupiter is opposite Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. This aspect can amplify extremes, where optimism and a desire for growth on one side meets resistance or pressure from entrenched systems on the other. Leo is fire energy; Aquarius is air energy. We all know what happens when these two mix. So, expect some flare-ups as tensions rise!

Also be on the lookout for news stories pertaining to internal power struggles involving those in positions of authority, as well as people “switching teams” or shifting alliances as priorities change. You may notice larger narratives being pushed, challenged, or rewritten. There can be tension between individual expression and collective agendas, with underlying questions about who holds power and how it is being used. Stay aware of what you are being shown and use your discernment. Notice where information feels exaggerated or emotionally charged in order to steer perception or influence a reaction.

July 23 | Mercury stations direct in Cancer

Moving forward

Mercury stations direct in Cancer on July 23, bringing a welcome relief after several weeks of delays, revisions, and second-guessing. Communication begins to flow more smoothly, and decisions that felt uncertain start coming back into focus. Because Mercury is still traveling through Cancer, emotional honesty with ourselves and others remains important. This is an excellent time to initiate a heart-to-heart talk and perhaps smooth things over if needed.

As far as projects and plans go, just remember that Mercury takes a little time to regain its full speed as it moves through its post-retrograde shadow. A challenging aspect to Saturn may also temporarily slow Mercury’s progress, serving as a reminder to be sure that all the boxes have been checked on our “to do” list before we move on to the next steps. So don’t feel pressured if everything isn’t moving full speed ahead immediately. Momentum will build naturally, and by the beginning of August, you’ll likely find that things are getting back on track quite nicely.

Transit: July 23 – October 24

July 26 | Saturn retrograde in Aries

Work smarter, not harder

Saturn stations retrograde in Aries on July 26, beginning a review of how we pursue our goals and take responsibility for our lives. Saturn moved into Aries in February 2026, and has been teaching us lessons about leadership, self-reliance, and personal accountability. During the retrograde period, we have an opportunity to evaluate what is working and what needs an adjustment. You may find yourself refining long-term plans, or recognizing where additional discipline or training is required to achieve your goals. Rather than pushing harder, Saturn retrograde encourages us to find ways to work smarter to support growth that is sustainable over time.

July 29 | Full Moon in Aquarius

No man (or woman) is an island

The month ends with a Full Moon in Aquarius on July 29, illuminating themes of friendship, community, and the role others play in shaping the future you are helping to create. Full Moons often bring endings or reveal important turning points, and this one may highlight where you have outgrown old connections, dynamics, or expectations. At the same time, the Sun is exactly conjunct Jupiter in Leo, amplifying optimism, confidence, and a desire to think bigger and live more fully as yourself. This combination highlights the balance between individuality and connection, reminding us that personal growth is not separate from collective experience.

The combined energies of this full moon and the sun conjunct Leo amplifies optimism, confidence, and a desire to think bigger and live more fully as yourself. It highlights the balance between individuality and connection, reminding us that personal growth is not separate from collective experience.

However, not everyone may be aligned with the same vision or moving at the same pace. Venus in Virgo forms a challenging aspect to Mars in Gemini, creating tension between personal priorities and the way collaboration unfolds within relationships, teams, or communities. Differing opinions on how something should be done could surface, especially where shared goals are involved.

The good news is that this is not a deal breaker. It’s an opportunity to have an important conversation now instead of later when the stakes are higher. Before responding, take time to understand where the other person is coming from. Listening first can prevent unnecessary conflict and lead to solutions that work for everyone involved.

Have a great month everyone! ~Christine
