Full Supermoon “Hunter’s Moon” in Aries 10/17/24

Why is it called the Hunter’s Moon?

The full moon in October is traditionally known as the Hunter’s Moon, because in earlier civilizations the full moon’s illumination during this time, made it easier for them to track game after sunset. This extended their hunting hours giving them a valuable opportunity to obtain more resources as they prepared for winter. (just a little tidbit of information for you)

But beyond its traditional name, this full moon is quite special as it a “supermoon”. Supermoons appear larger and brighter than a typical full moon. The reason for this is that the moon is at its closest point to the earth during its orbit making it appear larger and brighter than normal. Supermoons tend to have an amplified effect on our emotions and energy. Think of it as a “supersized” full moon and you get the idea.

This supermoon is in the sign of Aries, which is known for its bold, assertive energy. It beautifully compliments the forward momentum we felt from last week’s 10/10 portal and Pluto’s stationing direct in Capricorn (check out last week’s post for more details). Another interesting aspect is that Mars, the ruling planet of Aries, is in the sign of Cancer which is inviting you to direct this dynamic energy towards heart-centered goals and pursuits, relationships, home and family matters as well as emotional release and healing.

I would be remiss if I did not let you know that Mars in Cancer is squaring (a harsh aspect) the sun and moon, so be mindful of your emotions this week, especially if you have significant planets in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). Mars in Cancer can get a little cranky. If you find that you are more emotional or pessimistic than usual, take a step back and regain your composure, as a harsh word or hasty decision will be regretted later. My advice is to focus on self-care; enjoy a healthy meal, get some extra rest and take a day or two to regroup. You’ll return with a fresh, grounded perspective that will enable to you handle any situation or decision with clarity and confidence. Trust me on this! You’re welcome.

On the flip side, Venus and Mars are having a very nice conversation, so your relationships may deepen or go to the next level. If you are an established couple that has had some prior challenges or perhaps just a sense of disconnect lately, a heart-to-heart talk can turn things around, if both partners are willing to support each other and start fresh. Venus will be moving into Sagittarius on the same day as the full moon and will be there until November 11th. So for the next four weeks or so, she will be ready to explore and try new things. Let this Venus vibe spice up your love life by doing something different and fun. Get to know each other again by exploring new places, ideas and philosophies without criticism or judgement. Break out of that rut, have fun, and expand your horizons! This goes for my single people out there as well!

The Supermoon this week definitely packs a punch. But like a highly trained, skilled martial artist, your ability to work with this energy depends on maintaining your emotional integrity. There’s a big difference between acting on impulse and taking initiative. This week, focus on staying grounded and mastering the balance of purpose and patience. Prioritizing your physical health and practical matters will help you recognize opportunities for personal growth, both in your own journey and in your relationships. This moon illuminates how that with intention and discipline, you can channel Aries’ bold energy to strategically overcome the internal and external barriers that have been holding you back from reaching your full potential.

Practical ways you can work with this energy:

Physical activity and a healthy diet are key this week, as Aries energy focuses on the self and the physical body. With Mars, Aries’ ruling planet, currently in a water sign, there may be some underlying restlessness. Engaging in movement and incorporating healthy meals into your routine can help you channel any excess energy in a positive way. You can also use this boost of energy to tackle any cleaning or maintenance tasks around your home.

Set clear boundaries. Be clear about what you need and what you will or will not tolerate in your personal and professional relationships. If there is an awkward pause in the conversation, don’t fill it by over-explaining. Stand firm without being aggressive.

Be bold and confident. Have fun by yourself or with a partner by trying something different. Check out your local community for places and activities that you can explore. Also make time for a creative pursuit or hobby that fuels your inner fire and keeps you motivated.

Take the initiative. Take charge of a goal whether this is personal or professional. Don’t be impulsive, but don’t overthink it to the point of inaction either. Whether this is starting a new project, making an important decision, or pursuing something you’ve been hesitating on, the key is to be proactive in your approach and move forward with confidence.

Metaphysical ways you can work with this energy are:

Full moon fire ritual for letting go: If you have any lingering doubts or fears holding you back, consider a fire release ritual. Write down anything that’s been weighing you down or blocking your path, then safely burn the petition under the light of the Supermoon. As the smoke rises, imagine releasing these obstacles into the ethers, making room for a fresh start.

Create moon water: Place a jar of clean water under the Supermoon to charge it with Aries energy. You can add a non-water soluble crystal like a carnelian, red jasper or citrine, which are stones of confidence and action. You can use this moon water to cleanse your space, wash your face and hands, or even take a sip for an extra boost of courage and focus when you need it.

Charge your favorite crystals or talismans: Use the heightened influence of the Supermoon to charge magical tools, crystals, jewelry, or personal talismans. Leave them out under the moonlight to infuse them with the Aries lunar energy.

Candle magic: Light a white, red, or orange candle to represent passion, courage, and new beginnings. As you light the candle, focus on what you would like to release or accomplish. You can align your intentions to coincide with the next new moon (in about two weeks) or the next full moon (in about 30 days).

Aries Crystals: Crystals such as carnelian, bloodstone, citrine and red jasper nicely compliment the fiery energy of Aries. Some grounding crystals to balance things out are aquamarine, amazonite, unakite, hematite and smoky quartz. You can incorporate these stones in a crystal grid or carry/wear them as a reminder to focus on your inner strength and to help you stay calm and focused when dealing with any challenges.

I hope you all found this information helpful. I love you all and have a great week!

The 2024 10/10 portal. What does it mean? Where do we go from here?

The Wheel of Fortune tarot card from the major arcana

This morning, I intuitively tapped into this 10/10 portal energy and found it interesting that this occurs just one day before Pluto once again goes direct in Capricorn. This indicates forward momentum for the collective and society as a whole. Pluto, the planet of karma, transformation and timeline shifts completes its final progression through the sign of Capricorn before officially moving into the sign of Aquarius on November 19th. It will remain there for the next 20 years. It takes approximately 248 years for Pluto to come full circle on the zodiac wheel. So, this will be the last time any of us will see Pluto in the sign of Capricorn in our lifetime.

This planetary transit officially begins the shift into a new global consciousness, the Aquarian age. So yes, this is a big deal!

The tens in the tarot indicate endings and new beginnings

The number 10 in numerology signifies both endings and beginnings. The date of this portal is interesting as the entire date (month, day, year) adds up to the number 10. In my opinion, the energetic signature of this date has a heavier significance due to the year’s inclusion into the equation.

In the tarot major arcana the number 10 is represented by the Wheel of Fortune. This card indicates a change of fate, luck or destiny. It also denotes a time of forward motion and the removal of blockages. This card is interesting, as it metaphysically represents the perpetual motion of the universe. At any time, those currently at the top of the wheel, may find themselves at the bottom, and those at the bottom may find themselves at the top. Anything can happen when The Wheel of Fortune makes its appearance!

Fortunes can be lost or gained, power dynamics can substantially shift, and new paradigms arise as old ones crumble. Sound familiar? It should, as we are seeing these themes play out as we speak, as society is presently undergoing profound transformations on a personal and global level.

I want to reiterate that no one is immune to the Wheel of Fortune’s influence! Whether it’s in politics, Hollywood, relationships or personal dynamics, the Wheel of Fortune reminds us that life’s is ever evolving. What goes around comes around, and eventually the chickens come home to roost as they say. If your actions while at the top of the karmic wheel have been less than honorable, you are in for quite a ride on the way down. I don’t have to tell you, that we are currently witnessing this in real time, as foundations and iconic figureheads are now being questioned or dismantled.

The stage is set to propel us forward into new experiences and opportunities that empower us as individuals within the collective. By taking control of our own destiny, we foster personal growth and resilience, moving away from reliance on external forces for guidance or support, which may not always be reliable.

I find it interesting that currently in North Carolina in the aftermath of hurricane Helene, the private citizens are the ones that are providing the mainstay of support. They are helping each other with clean-up, delivering supplies, preparing meals, offering places to stay, etc. as government aid is currently falling short of expectations. This is but one recent example of many that we are witnessing. Celebrity happenings and the political stage are also revealing some real eye-openers. Are you paying attention?

How may this energy interact with you personally?

As we are witnessing things around us falter and shift, this 10/10 portal is inviting us each as individuals to tap into our divine sovereignty as we take greater ownership of our lives. In times of uncertainty, we must adapt by shifting our mindset to rely more on our own strengths and personal resources, as well as take action by getting more involved within our local community to get things done, support each other, and to create positive changes.

In your personal life, whether it’s your career, relationships or personal endeavors, this portal is a turning point wherein you are invited to practice being proactive, rather than reactive. This 10/10 Wheel of Fortune energy is bringing a change of seasons into your life. A moment where luck, fortune, and fate all come together and may manifest itself to you in an unexpected change, a mindset shift, or an opportunity that has the potential to turn the wheel of destiny in your favor.

If this resonates with you, a decision or moment of truth is likely to arise. Especially if you’ve previously knowingly or unknowingly given your power away to a person, place, or thing. What will you do? Will you wait for approval or direction? Let someone else decide your fate or perhaps accept their fate as your own? Or will you unquestioningly place your destiny in the hands of an external source that may be unreliable?

The answer to these questions is clear – You are capable of navigating your own ship, even if the seas are a bit rough right now. Are you ready to take the helm and steer your life where YOU want it to go? The choice is yours.

This week’s tarot & energy update 10/7-10/13/24

This week’s message indicates the seeds that you have previously planted are beginning to germinate. As the moon progresses through the signs of Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius leading up to the first quarter moon on Thursday, the next seven days are a time of progress, but may also present potential challenges. The Chariot as your tarot card encourages you to remain focused and persistent, even if you face a few tests along the way.

There is an element of patience that is coming through for you all. As we see in the image of the Earth Magic oracle card, the process is unfolding – literally you have magic happening underneath your feet! I do see growth occurring but remember once an idea or dream takes form in the physical plane, things slow down as there is a process that cannot be rushed. This is not the time to give up! Stay committed to your goal and keep moving forward. Some of you are already halfway there but you may not realize it yet!

This weekend it would be beneficial for you to go out in nature and ground your energy. When was the last time you walked barefoot through the grass, hiked on a nature trail, or strolled along the beach? Well, that’s too long! Connecting to the earth will help you dispel excess energy which will enable you to remain focused and balanced in both your actions and mindset.

Have a great week!

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra

Ah, the energy this week feels potent and transformative, and I know you all are feeling it too, with the new moon solar eclipse in Libra on October 2nd as the primary focus. This transit with its themes of balance, harmony, and justice, is inviting you to take a closer look at where things may feel out of sync in your relationships and interactions with others. So, if something feels “off” in your connections; whether with a partner, friend, or business colleague, this new moon solar eclipse will help you to initiate positive changes that recalibrate the scales.

This transit is all about release as it is occurring on the south node axis, encouraging you to let go of what no longer serves your current path. As you move through this week, you may find yourself shedding old habits or ways of relating to others that contribute to unbalanced power dynamics. This energy may manifest for you in subtle ways or something bigger, depending on your experience. Some of you may decide to have that honest heart-to-heart conversation or set a firm boundary that has been long overdue. You may decide to end a relationship, or find fresh, creative ways to work together to strengthen one.

The formation of alliances and adversaries are possible this week! Yes, Libra strives for harmony and balance, but it is also the sign of hidden enemies. Solar eclipses have a way of uncovering things, and we have Mercury in the sign of Libra and Venus in the sign of Scorpio during this time, so don’t be surprised if a sudden shift or revelation comes to light. This may feel destabilizing at first or may come as a confirmation or relief. Whatever the case may be, a beneficial aspect of this transit is that you are well supported to calmly and directly make a solid choice, negotiate more favorable terms, or face an uncomfortable situation head-on.

This is beautiful time of inner transformation for you, as you reclaim your personal sovereignty and align with a more authentic and heart-centered version of yourself.

Some ways you can support yourself this week are:

Setting healthy boundaries by communicating your needs clearly and calmly. You may be tested if others are used to your compromising, so be kind, but firm.

Movement such as gentle yoga, a walk outside, etc. will help you stay grounded and encourage your body to gently release excess energy and emotions. Reiki and energy work can also be extremely supportive during this time.

Prioritize rest. Eclipses are intense which can make you feel more tired than usual. Make space for some extra downtime and avoid overwhelming yourself with social commitments if you are not up to it. It’s okay to say no.

Reach out for support if needed. Talking it out with a friend, relative or your local professional tarot reader (shameless plug), can be a tremendous help to relieve temporary anxiety and pent-up emotions, as well as can offer you valuable insights that bring clarity to a situation.

Engage in something creative that you love to do. Creative outlets are necessary for our well-being. They are therapeutic in their own right, as they nourish our soul.

Crystals you may find helpful to work with are rose quartz, amethyst, citrine, lapis lazuli, hematite, black obsidian, lepidolite, blue lace agate and moonstone.

I love you all, have a wonderful week! ❤

Celebrating Mabon (Autumn Equinox): Harvest, Gratitude & Reflection

Mabon (Autumn Equinox) celebrates the change in the seasons

Mabon, observed in September at the autumn equinox (this year it is September 22), traditionally celebrates the bounty of the second harvest and the winding down of the growing season.

Astrologically, it marks the beginning of the sun’s transit through the sign of Libra, and the 24-hour window of time when the day and night are of equal length, just before the northern hemisphere begins its descent into the darker half of the year.

This is a most magical time as we celebrate the changing of the seasons! The leaves begin to turn from green to yellow, red and brown and the air begins to feel crisp and cool. The preparation of comfort foods such as homemade breads, pies, cakes, and stews fill the air with the most delicious aromas. As the earth slows down, she invites us to slow down too. Turn down the lights, grab a little treat and light some candles. In the dim light of the amber glow of the room, you can’t help but to take a deep breath, let it out, give thanks, relax, and reconnect.

Mabon celebrations vary, but the common themes are balance, reflection, community, and gratitude. Some celebrate by quietly reflecting on their personal journeys, evaluating the past year’s achievements and challenges. Others by participating in rituals and group activities wherein everyone enjoys a prepared feast of homemade dishes, desserts and seasonal produce which symbolizes the bounty of the “harvest” and the interconnectedness of life.

Mabon invites us to embrace the shift from summer’s exuberant energy to the quieter, more introspective phase of autumn. In modern times, we often forget that nature is not separate from us; it flows through us. By acknowledging this special day, we honor our humanity and our connection to the Earth’s cycles. As we align our mind, body, and spirit with nature’s rhythms, we recognize the significance of both light and dark in our lives, as well as the many shades of gray that exist between them.

A few meaningful ways you can celebrate Mabon are:

Create an altar: Set up an altar in your home with autumn themed items such as apples, pumpkins, fall leaves, twinkle lights, wheat, flowers, herbs, food offerings, acorns, earth-colored candles, a cauldron, incense burner, statues, crystals, etc.

Perform a candle ritual. Some theme ideas are: balance, letting go/release, gratitude, prosperity, abundance, peaceful home, good health, and protection.

Find a public group or community that is having a Mabon celebration and ask to join. I suggest you check with your local metaphysical stores first as they may be having events or will be able to guide you to reputable sources.

Support your local community by shopping at a small business and leaving a positive review if you enjoyed your experience.

Prepare a meal and share your harvest with those you care about, or pamper yourself as you enjoy a quiet evening at home with a tasty treat!

Journal and reflect on the past year. What you’ve accomplished, the lessons you’ve learned and what you are grateful for.

Go out in nature to appreciate the changing seasons. While you are out, mindfully collect natural items for your altar such as branches, feathers, pinecones, stones, etc. You can also leave offerings for the nature spirits. Be sure any foods that you put out are safe and healthy for wildlife to consume.

Honor the earth by planting a tree, tending to your garden, participating in a local clean-up effort, or volunteering at an animal shelter. If you don’t have time to volunteer, consider making a small donation.

Happy Mabon & Autumn Equinox everyone!

Tarot & energy updates for the week of 9/16/24-9/22/24

Tarot & energy update cards for this week

This week, eclipse season is underway, beginning with the Full Harvest Moon partial eclipse in the sign of Pisces on Tuesday evening. I want to reassure everyone, eclipse energy can be unpredictable, but it is nothing to fear. If it is stirring things up for you, it is a sign that your internal compass is realigning you to a more beneficial path.

Work with this energy by slowing down and reflecting on what is or has been holding you back, and ways that you can make space for growth. This partial eclipse on the Pisces-Virgo axis, is inspiring creative ideas, the release of karmic patterns, healing, and healthy perspective shifts. Listen to your inner voice this week, as it will reveal insights and solutions that will prove to be quite helpful over the upcoming three to six months.

See my previous post for more details about this transit.

On September 18th the waning moon moves into Aries, and then into Taurus on the 20th. Meanwhile, the sun is in its final days in the sign of Virgo. This beautiful energy invites you to clear out the cobwebs and begin to think about how to implement some of those epiphanies that came through with the Pisces full moon! You may have some decisions to make later in the week. Take the time that you need but try not to sit on the fence too long! In your heart, you already know the answer.

As a reminder, the waning moon cycle is an excellent time for clearing energy. Spiritual baths, return to sender spells, chord cutting and releasing rituals, as well as cleansing yourself and your space with a smudge stick or spray are a few ways you can work with a waning moon to phase out what needs to go.

This weekend is the September equinox which officially kicks off the fall season! I’ll be uploading a post for this shortly, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, put out those fall decorations and enjoy a pumpkin spice latte to lift your spirits! You could use some lighthearted fun after that intense full moon earlier in the week!

Have a great week! ❤

What message does Friday the 13th have for you?

The Magician from The Wandering Star tarot deck

I decided to do a random tarot card pull today, and well, well, well, it is none other than The Magician card that came flying out of the deck! This is a positive confirmation that the universe is aligning with your thoughts, and where your thoughts go, your energy flows, so be mindful of where you are focusing your attention. There is a feeling of potential in the air, as if anything is possible, and indeed it is, as it’s Friday the 13th after all.

Pisces Full Moon Eclipse 9/17/24: Messages, Insights & Crystals.

Below is a written transcript of the video:

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 17th is the first set of eclipses on the Virgo-Pisces axis that will continue until early 2027. This partial eclipse can also be considered a preview of the energetic signature we can expect to see when the north and south nodes shift away from the current Aries-Libra axis and onto the Pisces-Virgo axis in early 2025.

This transit occurs at 25 degrees in Pisces. Look up this coordinate in your personal natal chart, as this will give you an inkling of what areas of your life will be most affected by this lunar event.

Eclipses are known to facilitate change. As a lunar eclipse, this transit’s effects will be in general, more internalized, or this energy may reveal its wisdom and messages through the people closest to you. Acting as a metaphorical mirror, they may question or challenge you in some way. If this is your experience, pay attention to how you feel and what internal dialogue comes up for you during and after the interaction. Do your best to respond, not react. There is a message and/or lesson here for you. Go ahead and crack open that oyster and discover for yourself, the pearl of wisdom hidden inside.

Vivid dreams, epiphanies and insights are also likely to occur about a week before and after the full moon. Especially for my natural empaths out there. These intuitive “hits” serve as inspiration for new ideas, creative endeavors, plans, goals, healing, innovative solutions, and healthy perspective shifts. Be sure to journal your thoughts so that you can revisit and expand upon them later.

Opposing the moon, is the sun in Virgo, which is helping us to balance out all this watery energy. The Pisces-Virgo axis is where you are encouraged to find a way to bridge the two worlds of the spiritual and the physical, the dreamer and the doer. Even the best ideas need a practical plan of action, to manifest them into reality.

The sun and moon’s square to Jupiter in the sign of Gemini is a challenging aspect that can heighten mental activity during this time. You may be overthinking a situation or are finding it difficult to stay on task. Jupiter in Gemini may also stir up some gossip, so be careful of making assumptions, and do your best to stay in your own lane. This placement can also have you feeling quite energized and over-optimistic, which may have you tempted to take on more than you can realistically handle. If you are noticing any of these signs, this is your message that you need to ground your energy a bit. Take a step back, breathe, and slow down, in order to gain some clarity.

On a supportive note, the sun and moon form a beneficial aspect with Uranus in the sign of Taurus. Uranus, the planet of surprise and innovation, is here to shake things up in a positive way. This aspect is shifting the collective energies to align with opportunities and breakthroughs, especially related to Taurus themes of personal finances, physical health, self-esteem, love, beauty, and personal values.

This full moon transit will likely mark a significant turning point that serves as the catalyst for a positive shift or change. But I want to mention here, that there is no need to rush into a decision or plan (more on this in a moment). This is but the first of an approximately two-year eclipse cycle occurring on the Pisces-Virgo axis. And as I mentioned before, the north and south nodes, officially move onto this axis in January 2025. So, the first of the year, may be an opportune target date for some of you, giving you time to plan and/or prepare accordingly.

On a personal note, I am noticing this transit is having a surreal effect on the collective psyche. To put it simply, things just feel out of sorts right now, not everything is as it seems…

For those of you seeing this, my advice is to consider embodying the qualities of the High Priestess archetype of observing more and saying less for the time being. Her emotions and intuition serve her, not the other way around. Don’t be so quick to reveal your hand. After the full moon, when the energies even out, things will become clearer, and you’ll be glad that you did not succumb to an emotional impulse.

Some crystals that may help you process the heightened emotional and spiritual energy of this full moon lunar eclipse are:

Amethyst: Corresponding to the crown chakra, this stone is known for its calming and spiritual properties. It enhances intuition and one’s connection to the higher realms. Amethyst helps you stay centered and grounded, boosts self-esteem, and aids in overcoming addictions, unhealthy habits and subconscious patterns.

Labradorite: Labradorite with its beautiful flashes of color, helps you release old patterns and embrace change. It offers protection and enhances psychic abilities at the same time, making it an ideal choice to work with when tapping into Pisces dreamy, intuitive energy.

Aquamarine: This blue-green stone supports emotional release and helps you communicate your feelings more effectively. It promotes a healthy balance between your emotions and your practical side, which compliments the full moon lunar eclipse on the Pisces-Virgo axis quite well.

Selenite: This beautiful soft white crystal, is used for cleansing and connecting to higher realms. It is an ideal crystal to use when working with the moon as it is named after Selene, the moon goddess. It clears out negative energy and raises your vibration, allowing you to be a clear channel for spiritual insights and wisdom that may come through in the weeks leading up to and during, this full moon eclipse.

Smoky Quartz: One of my personal favorites, smoky quartz is an excellent grounding stone that neutralizes negative energy and helps to keep you calm and centered mentally and emotionally, which makes it ideal to wear, hold, or have in your space when you need a stabilizing influence.

Red Jasper: This red crystal connects you to the earth and promotes stability, strength, balance and endurance. Corresponding to the root chakra, this stone energizes, yet is grounding at the same time. It helps you stay positive while you navigate life’s challenges and changes, and keeps you focused on moving forward to achieve your goals.

Have a wonderful full moon! ❤

You are reminded to stay flexible and keep your sense of humor, even when things get a little hectic. The key here is to manage your time and energy wisely. Prioritize the tasks that are most important, and don’t be afraid to delegate or say no when necessary.

Although you are quite talented at multi-tasking, your advice for this month is to remember that you only have two hands, and it seems to me, that both are full. Stay organized and be realistic by what you can reasonably accomplish within the time that you have available.

Crystal suggestion: Unakite and/or tiger’s eye
