March 2026 Astrology & Insights

March 2026 is intense, layered, and illuminating. Classic eclipse season energy for sure! The month opens with a Full “Blood Moon” Lunar Eclipse in Virgo, then Venus lights her fire in the sign of Aries, Jupiter stations direct in Cancer, there’s an introspective Pisces New Moon, Mercury moves forward out of retrograde (yeah!), and we finish with Venus cooling her jets in the sign of Taurus.

Each transit this month carries a lesson, a nudge, a revelation or an inspired spark. Are you ready to dive into what March has in store for you?

Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo – March 3

Virgo governs refinement, systems, work, health, and the daily rituals that subtly shape your life. Full Moons illuminate what has ripened, what has run its course, and what can no longer be ignored. When that Full Moon is a lunar eclipse, the energy is amplified. This transit signifies a turning point in the area of your natal chart where Virgo resides.

Virgo has been paying attention since late 2024. She’s observant like that. Notes have been taken. Patterns tracked. Energy expenditures calculated. And now she’s sliding the folder across the table and asking you to look closely. Where have you drifted from your own standards? Is it your finances? Your health? The way you structure your time? Or have you been so focused on tending to everyone else that you haven’t noticed your own reserves are running low?

Virgo is integrity in action. She’s often called a perfectionist, but it’s not about that. It’s about discernment. Do your daily habits and actions reflect what you say you value? Are the systems you have in place supporting your well-being, or slowly eroding it? Is there something relevant that you’ve been ignoring?

With Pisces opposite this eclipse, it’s easy to float into patterns of avoidance, over-giving, or blurry boundaries. The waters can feel familiar, comforting, safe even, though realistically, it may not be the healthiest place for you. Virgo is not judging you. She is giving you a reality check. Are you willing to take an honest look?

Eclipses both reveal information and facilitate change, and they are usually not subtle about it. Pay attention to what surfaces for you around this time. This is information you’ll be working with, integrating, and refining over the next six months.

Venus Enters Aries – March 6

Venus in Aries is direct, passionate, fierce and not playing around. This transit encourages clarity through action. Anything or anyone lingering in ambiguity now gets called to the fire. The heat is on. Some will rise to the challenge others will burn to ash. The stakes are high. Heads will roll, but hearts will be ignited as well.

In love, business and finances, this energy can lend an inspirational and/or entrepreneurial spark. Venus in Aries doesn’t wait for permission. She tries, she experiments, she takes the risk.

The shadow side? Impulsivity. Reactivity. Mistaking intensity for compatibility.

Use Venus’ passion consciously. Feel the warmth of her fire, but don’t abandon your common sense or you might get burned.

Jupiter Goes Direct in Cancer – March 10

Since late 2025, Jupiter has been retrograde in Cancer, turning its expansive energy inward. Growth has been more internal; focused on home, emotions, family, self-care and a sense of belonging. Now, as Jupiter stations direct, its energy begins to project outward again, reaching beyond your inner circle.

Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. It’s expression here is fertile, protective, and deeply heart centered. You may feel a renewed sense of optimism regarding family matters, a living situation, or the healing of a relationship and/or your inner landscape. Goals or dreams that were once on hold, begin to gain ground, and you might even realize that a previous pause or setback actually worked in your favor! With Jupiter direct, expect new opportunities and support to reveal themselves through friends, family and renewed connections.

This retrograde-direct transit is a reminder that growth doesn’t always have to be flashy or visible to others. Often, it begins by the creation of a thriving inner sanctuary, which is the foundation for success and growth in the external world.

Jupiter moving direct brings a blessing and it’s ready to meet you where you are. Allow yourself to receive it.

Pisces New Moon – March 18

This Pisces New Moon arrives deep in eclipse season. It’s mysterious, dark, and profoundly potent.

Pisces dissolves boundaries and reconnects us to our intuition, imagination, grief, and compassion. This is the moon of dreamers, shamans and mystics. Where is Pisces in your natal chart? That’s where your intuitive gifts are strongest, where your creativity flows freely, and where you dare to dream beyond the physical world. It’s the place where you drift from the mundane into divine inspiration.

Pisces represents the subconscious, and the liminal space between the spiritual and material worlds. Like the clean slate we all experience at birth, this lunation asks for a release. A softening of the grip. What are you still hanging on to? An outcome? An outdated belief? An emotional attachment that has quietly run its course? Maybe it’s a pattern or habit that no longer serves you. Letting go requires faith. It asks you to trust the unseen currents moving beneath the surface of your life.

Where are you being required to have faith or trust more? Where could new experiences help rewire old circuitry and positively shift a pattern, behavior or mindset you’ve outgrown?

This New Moon is a deep dive into your emotional waters. It’s energy beautifully supports spiritual practices, creative expression, dream journaling, and inner reflection. It’s the final New Moon before the Spring Equinox, which is nature’s true new year. This is a powerful moment for clearing and intention setting before the new 2026 cycle begins.

A spiritual bath or any symbolic ritual involving water would correspond nicely with this New Moon!

Spring Equinox – March 20

The Spring Equinox marks a sacred threshold. Day and night are perfectly balanced before the Sun tips the scales toward longer days. This is nature’s true new year. Not January first, while there are still icicles hanging from the trees. No, it’s when the goddess awakens from her winter descent. The earth stirs, seeds begin to push through soil, birds build their nests, and what was dormant begins to breathe again.

The equinox is a recalibration point. Where in your life are you being asked to restore balance? What latent potential that has been patiently waiting is now ready to emerge? You may not see the full bloom yet, but the roots beneath the surface are strengthening.

Energetically, this is initiation energy. The intentions you set now have potency because they align with the rhythm of the natural world. Open the windows. Touch the earth. Light a candle. Decide on what you wish to cultivate over the next three, six or 12 months. Clear out the clutter and make space for it.

Mercury Goes Direct in Pisces – March 20

If things have felt a little “off” over the past three weeks, relief is on the way.

Mercury retrograde in Pisces may have pulled you back into matters of the heart, your faith, or unfinished emotional business. Mental clarity was a bit hard to come by. Mercury in Pisces operates through intuition, rather than logic. “Feels over facts”. Getting a straight answer challenged you to know exactly what questions to ask. Even then, it likely required some extra patience and a willingness to read between the lines.

But it wasn’t all less than ideal. You may have turned inward for healing, reflection and closure. Maybe you revisited a hobby, an idea, or a creative project that reignited your inspiration. Retrogrades often delay matters to make time for restoration.

As Mercury stations direct, the energy stabilizes. Ideas and intuitive insights begin to find practical application in the “real world”. Communication becomes clearer and more straightforward. It can feel like your mental faculties are coming back online, and this goes for the others around you too!

Still, give it about 10-14 days before finalizing major commitments. The post-retrograde shadow lingers, and there may be a few loose ends to tie up.

Venus Enters Taurus – March 30

Venus changes signs at the end of the month, moving from fiery Aries into grounded Taurus, one of her home signs. She likes it here. She’s relaxed, sensual, and ready to be pampered. As she eases back on her Venusian style chaise lounge with a glass of wine, chocolates and fresh fruit, she releases a noticeable exhale. Then she glances in our direction, invites us to have a seat and do the same.

When she is here, our relationships crave reliability. Finances benefit from practical planning as well as a keen eye for value. Life’s pleasures are slow and embodied, rather than impulsive. After all the shifts that eclipse season brings, this transit offers a welcome respite. Slow down. Savor your food. Tend to your body. And most of all, direct your valuable resources (time, money, attention) toward quality people, places and things that not only last, but give a positive return on your investment over time.

Tip: This is also self-care energy! Book the spa day, schedule the massage, get the mani-pedi. Sign up for that yoga class or enjoy a beautifully prepared meal without rushing through it. If you have a partner, plan something fun to do together. Make treating yourself well a priority. You’re worth it!

Eclipse season and its accompanying transits can feel intense. And remember, the effects can be felt for up to six months. But you don’t have to navigate these energies alone!

If you’d like to explore how this month’s astrology is activating your personal chart, this is an excellent time to schedule a reading. We’ll look at where the eclipses and planetary shifts are landing for you and discuss what’s ready to evolve, expand, or transform.

Have a great month!

February 2026: Eclipses, Fire Horse Momentum & A New Era Begins

Now that we’ve crossed the threshold into 2026, the energy accelerates. January opened the door, but February steps through it. Collectively, we are all feeling it. The shift is here, now. The signs are all around us. The past no longer fits, and the future we envision for ourselves requires our active participation today.

Before we look at the individual transits, it’s important to understand why February feels so charged. This is a month where momentum is already in motion. It begins with a fiery full moon in Leo on the 1st, just as our solar system is shifting us into new long-term cycles. Meanwhile, in Chinese astrology, the year of the Fire Horse kicks off under a New Moon annular solar eclipse (known as the “Ring of Fire”) in the sign of lofty Aquarius.

You’ll want to grab a handful of mane, because once the starting gate opens, we’re in for quite a ride around the track on the swift, intelligent Fire Horse. This is going to be interesting!

A quick note from Chinese astrology: those born under the Year of the Horse are encouraged to wear something red throughout 2026 to ward off misfortune and attract blessings. If you were born in the years of 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026, consider this your cosmic reminder to incorporate a few touches of red into your personal style for the next 12 months (Feb. 17, 2026 – Feb.5, 2027).

February 1 — Leo Full Moon

Identity, expression, and the courage to be seen

The month begins with a Full Moon in Leo, a sign ruled by the Sun and associated with creativity, pride, leadership, and the heart. Leo energy wants us to shine with truth and authenticity.

Full Moons reveal what has been building beneath the surface. This one illuminates where we have been hiding parts of ourselves, shrinking our voices, or postponing what we know we want. Leo energy reminds us that we are meant to be the star in our own lives. To accomplish this requires acknowledging the truth that lives at the core of our being.

Aquarius is the opposite zodiac sign of Leo. Where Leo represents the individual, Aquarius represents the collective. When these energies meet, we are reminded that our personal gifts, skills and talents are meant to serve something greater than ourselves. Each of us has something valuable to offer. The house ruled by Leo in your natal chart holds clues where your creativity, confidence and self-expression want to emerge.

What part of you is ready to step forward?

February 3 — Uranus stations direct in Taurus

The ground shifts beneath our feet

Uranus has been in the sign of Taurus since 2018, stirring things up in the areas of our life that pertain to finances, survival, food systems, material possessions, and property. When Uranus went retrograde in late 2025, it really dug in its heels. With no outward resolution in sight, we were invited to turn inward for some serious self-reflection on our priorities, goals, and spending habits.

As Uranus stations direct, forward motion returns. Situations that felt stalled, uncertain, or tense begin to move again. This transit is especially significant because Uranus will leave Taurus and enter Gemini on May 21, 2026, ending a seven-year chapter that redefined our personal values. The last seven years taught us a lot. We are much more intentional about what we buy, where we buy it from as well as what we truly need to feel secure. Ostentatious displays of wealth or having the latest gadgets are no longer ideals that we strive for.

This station gives us a final look at where we’ve been and our first real glimpse of where we’re headed.

What has changed or is changing in how you support yourself, emotionally, physically, and financially?

February 13 — Saturn enters Aries

A new two-year cycle of leadership and responsibility

Saturn is one of the most important planets in astrology because it governs time, structure, and long-term growth. When Saturn changes signs, the collective tone shifts.

As Saturn enters Aries, we move out of a period of emotional and spiritual processing and into a cycle of action, self-definition, and leadership. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. It represents beginnings, courage, and the willingness to go first.

Saturn in Aries asks:

“Do you have the discipline to achieve your goals? We’ll see, because I am going challenge you. Not to break you, but to strengthen you, so you realize how much power, focus and courage you truly have within yourself.”

Over the next two years, we will be invited and, in some cases, required, to step into our authority, claim our sovereignty, and build something new from the ground up.

February 17 — Aquarius New Moon & Annular “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse

The future is no longer an idea. It is something we are actively stepping into, one conscious choice at a time.

This New Moon is no ordinary transit. It is a solar eclipse, an annular “Ring of Fire”, where the Moon does not fully cover the Sun, leaving a luminous ring of light suspended in the sky. Think of it as a divine spark, a sign that what has been hidden is ready to be revealed.

Old patterns crack. Secrets and truths rise to the surface. This eclipse carries the energy of renewal, transformation, collective awakening, and the breaking of cycles.

In Aquarius, this ring of fire also lights up innovation, community, and the future of humanity itself. What is seeded in the collective consciousness at this time, will grow over the next six months. Watch closely. Times are a changing, and it invites you to move with it.

February 17 — The Year of the Fire Horse begins

Momentum and direction

On the same day as the eclipse, Chinese astrology shifts into the Year of the Fire Horse, one of the most dynamic and intense combinations in the zodiac.

The Fire Horse represents independence, courage, and raw momentum. It does not tolerate stagnation. It demands forward movement and decisive choices.

After 2025’s Wood Snake year of shedding, reflection, and revelation, Fire Horse energy pushes us into action. This is the year to take calculated risks, change direction, and pursue what’s been calling to you. Physical, actionable results are possible under this sign.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. The momentum of the Fire Horse must be consciously guided. Speed without precision is chaos. If you don’t hold the reins, the Fire Horse will choose the path for you.

February 26 – March 20: Mercury retrograde in Pisces

The soul speaks

As the month winds down, Mercury stations retrograde in Pisces. After so much fire and forward motion, this transit brings us back inward and gives us a chance to catch our breath.

Pisces is the sign of intuition, dreams, and the subconscious. During this retrograde cycle, old conversations, feelings, and memories may resurface. Spiritual insights may be revealed through dreams or intuitive “downloads”. This is a time for reflection and self-care. Try to get some extra rest and drink plenty of water. For some sensitive souls, this transit may be a little rough. Journaling or talking to someone can help. Be sure to guard the gates of your consciousness by carefully choosing what is allowed to enter.

Listen and observe as to what is coming back around during this time. This applies to both the collective and the individual. Shadows from the abyss are rising to the surface, asking to be acknowledged. If ignored, they will linger and eventually resurface in another form down the road.

January 2026: Horoscopes, Tarot & Collective Shifts

Happy New Year! Before we dive into the first horoscopes of 2026, I want to start by highlighting the planet that is the big deal this month: Neptune. The planet of dreams, imagination, and spirituality.

On January 26, Neptune re-enters Aries, beginning a long-term transit that will last roughly 13 years. This matters because Neptune is one of the outer planets; and outer planets work on a much bigger timeline than the personal planets whose movements we experience day to day.

“When an outer planet changes signs, it doesn’t just affect us personally. It reshapes the collective narrative.”

In astrology, the slower, deliberate movement of the outer planets means their influence has a longer lasting impact that shapes the collective mood, values, and themes of an entire era. By contrast, the personal planets; Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter, move quickly, coloring our moods, choices, and short-term cycles. The Moon changes signs every 2–2.5 days, the Sun about a month, Mercury and Venus roughly 3–4 weeks, Mars every two months, and Jupiter about once a year.

Outer planets operate on a very different scale: Saturn spends 2.5 years in a sign, Uranus 7–8 years, Neptune 13–14 years, and Pluto anywhere from 12 to 30 years. To travel the entire zodiac, Saturn takes nearly 30 years, Uranus 84 years, Neptune 164 years, and Pluto an astonishing 248 years. Because of their slow pace, when an outer planet shifts signs, it marks a major collective turning point. A symbolic reset that unfolds over time, guiding long-term growth and generational shifts.

“This isn’t just a new year, it’s the beginning of a new cycle.”

What makes this present time especially striking is that all of the outer planets changed signs in 2025. This helps explain the significant transitions many people have been witnessing and feeling. Old structures dissolving, new frameworks struggling to take shape, and an overall feeling that we are standing with one foot on the dock and the other on a boat ready to sail. The instability highlights the polarity of endings and beginnings. As the boat drifts further away, a decision must be made. Do we remain on the shore, or do we embark on the journey ahead?

Numerology adds another layer. 2025 was a “9” year, associated with endings, release, and closure. 2026 is a “1” year, which marks beginnings, initiation, and the first steps into a new cycle. With Neptune entering Aries, (the sign of action, identity, and courage), we are asked to imagine what comes next and then act on it. Remember the boat metaphor I just mentioned? Neptune in Aries beckons us to come aboard!

“2026 is the year of the Fire Horse”

Chinese astrology echoes this shift. 2025, the Year of the Wood Snake, emphasized wisdom, intuition, strategy, and transformation. It was a year rich with potential, yet marked by challenges and disclosures that required closer examination and accountability. Like the snake shedding its skin, 2025 symbolized release and renewal, asking us to acknowledge what we have individually and collectively outgrown and are ready to leave behind.

2026 brings the Year of the Fire Horse – full speed ahead. The Fire Horse infuses the year with energy, passion, momentum, and independence. Its central themes are forward movement and decisive action. The key word here is decisive.

A Fire Horse is smart, swift, and bold, but it can also be hot-tempered and sensitive, requiring a skilled rider to direct its power constructively. If we’re not holding the reins, the Fire Horse will take us where it wants to go, rather than where we consciously choose to lead ourselves.

This month’s element-themed horoscopes unfold against the backdrop of the start of a new year, a new numerological cycle, and a generational shift that will shape the next decade-plus of collective growth.

Rewriting the story: A tarot inspired look at the 12/4/25 Gemini Full Moon

Gemini Full Moon Corresponding Tarot Cards: The Nine of Swords (Moon in Gemini), The Nine of Wands (Sun in Sagittarius), The Moon

Well, I’m not going to sugarcoat it, the two tarot cards representing the final full moon of 2025 (Nine of Swords & Nine of Wands) are a bit of a handful! Together, they add up to number 18, which is The Moon in the Major Arcana. An energy that asks you to look at what’s been lingering beneath the surface. It’s mysterious, revealing, and transformative. And because this full moon sits on the Gemini–Sagittarius axis, there’s movement, momentum, and a push to keep going even when things feel murky. My eye keeps going to the crawfish emerging from the water on The Moon card. That image echoes the themes of the upcoming Sagittarius New Moon on the 19th – something rising, something breaking through.

This final full moon of the year is a super moon, shining it’s light on the fears, worries, and patterns you’ve been carrying. You know, the ones that play like a highlight reel when everything else is quiet. But this isn’t a moon for deep excavation or revisiting every wound. Gemini and Sagittarius are mutable air and fire. Active, forward-moving, quick to adapt. Think of a quarterback carrying the ball those last few yards for the touchdown. The pressure is real. The hits may come. But the momentum is undeniable, and the goal is in sight.

It’s been a long road, but don’t throw in the towel now!

This moon asks you to look at the internal stories and patterns that have shaped your decisions. Not to dwell, but to see them clearly and understand why they’ve held such influence for so long. This Gemini moon is about seeing something with fresh eyes. What was then is not what is now.

The Nines in tarot signify a turning point. The moment where past trials, breakthroughs, and hard-earned lessons gather into wisdom. Look back on the year behind you. Who you were in January is not who you are today. Again, the crawfish on The Moon card catches my eye. It rises from the depths wearing a shell. Symbolic of the protective layers built from old stories and survival patterns. Which of those layers have served their purpose? Which are ready to be shed?

This full moon asks: what are you ready to release in this final month of 2025?

The images of the cards tell the story. However, there is a new path in front of you. Clear your mind, speak your truth, and allow your perspective to shift. Redefine the narratives that keep looping in the background. Gemini rules the house of communication, so journaling your thoughts or having an honest conversation can help clear the mental clutter and create space for what wants to emerge next.

A quick card pull for guidance this week: Queen of Cups

This week brings a soft but steady shift, highlighting what your intuition has been trying to show you. Pay attention to subtle cues such as heightened sensitivity, a message to slow down, moments of déjà vu, or a past memory gently passing through. Be kind to yourself and keep your schedule a touch looser if you can. Carve out small, quiet moments to ground and center your energy. This can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths, enjoying a cup of tea, going outside for a short walk or sitting in stillnesss for a few minutes before bed.

By the end of the week, you’ll feel lighter and more aligned as you reconnect with a pace that honors your unique inner rhythm.

The upcoming new moon in Scorpio is quietly steering the energy behind the scenes this week. To find out more, see my previous post for details.

This week: Feeling, Healing & Fire

Cancer season is in full swing, and this week brings a powerful trio of transits; each one inviting you to move from feeling into action, from intuition into intention. Let’s break it down. 🌌 ⤵️

☀️ June 24 – Sun Conjunct Jupiter in Cancer
The Sun’s warmth and optimism meets Jupiter’s expansive energy—which supercharges your personal growth. Something within you begins to bloom. This can be a quiet insight, a dream, goal, or a spark of motivation you can’t ignore. Imagine your future self, living or doing what this is for you. Really “feel it”. Let yourself believe in something bigger.

🌑 New Moon in Cancer | 4°
Square Saturn + Neptune in Aries | Sextile Mars
This New Moon plants its seeds in tender soil, but not without challenge. A square from Saturn and Neptune in Aries may bring a moment of doubt, delay, or a reality check that challenges your plans. It’s not the end if you don’t get the green light right away—Mars favorably aspects this transit, lending its drive, courage, and grit to help you find another route. If needed, rework the plan, not the dream.

The two of cups tarot card corresponds to this New Moon. Your aspirations may need more than just your input -it may need a partner, a collaboration, team, or trusted ally to get the ball rolling. Choose your connections with care. Everyone needs to be on the same page.

🦁 June 26 – Mercury Enters Leo
After drifting through Cancer’s inner tides, Mercury enters Leo with a bold exhale. It’s a shift from inner dialogue to outer declaration. Communication becomes more confident and direct. Creativity flows. Speak from the heart. Now is the time to say what you mean, name what you want.

Mercury in Leo is magnetic. This energy builds on the New Moon’s Two of Cups vibe: mutual recognition, heart-centered connection, and the courage to show up as your full self. Your words carry a frequency—and when you speak with clarity and authenticity, you naturally attract the right people and opportunities.

Want to go deeper?
The house where Cancer and Leo fall in your birth chart will show where these transits are showing up for you. That’s where you’re planting seeds (Cancer) and finding your voice (Leo).

Look to those areas for insight into what you’re being asked to feel, express, and create.

Have a great week!  💖

Jupiter in Cancer: Coming Home to the Heart 6/9/25-6/30/26

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, higher wisdom, and soul-aligned opportunities, entered the soft, sacred waters of Cancer on June 9th, 2025—and stays until June 30th, 2026. This is a significant shift in energy from when it was previously in the sign of mutable Gemini from May 25th 2024. Cancer, the cardinal water sign ruled by the Moon, is an initiator. It invites us into the soul’s inner sanctuary, where emotional healing, intuition, family, and our sense of home live. With Jupiter in Cancer, we grow, but we grow inward. And that inner growth then ripples outward in undeniable, tangible ways.

Now, Jupiter doesn’t just show up and sprinkle glitter on your life. It expands whatever it touches—for better or for worse. So, depending on how you’ve been caring for your emotional ecosystem, this transit can bring profound healing… or it can expose the places that are in need of it. But either way, it’s benevolent. It’s trying to move you toward truth, spiritual nourishment, and stability that only comes from the inside out. I suggest that you pull up your personal natal chart. Because the house that is ruled by Cancer is the area of your life where Jupiter will be doing its sacred work. Whether it’s your home, family, career, relationships – including your relationship with yourself; that space is being blessed over the next 12 months with Jupiter’s grace and “karmic ripening”.

As I mentioned above, Jupiter brings blessings yes, but in Cancer it’s not necessarily the result of a loud, boisterous blow-out. More than likely, it may arrive through healing conversations, through the courage to be emotionally honest, or through a newfound capacity to receive love without shrinking. There may be tears, but they’re the good kind—the kind that rinses the soul and soften the walls.

In the tarot, Jupiter is connected to the Wheel of Fortune, and when this Wheel turns in Cancer, it calls for change that begins within and radiates outward in quiet, powerful waves. And yes, fortune favors the brave. Not the loudest or the quickest, but those courageous enough to feel deeply, to soften, to trust their intuition and to open their hearts – even after they’ve been hurt.

Jupiter in Cancer says: you are allowed to be both strong and sensitive.

You are allowed to grow in ways that feel like healing, not chasing a future ideal version of yourself.

Trust the turning of the Wheel, especially in the place where your heart has long waited to be met. This is where the good fortune flows now—not as something you aspire to, but something you know and remember to be true. ❤

Celebrating Ostara: Spring Renewal with The Queen of Wands

As the wheel of the year turns, we arrive at Ostara, the Spring Equinox, on March 20th – a time of perfect balance when day and night are equal before the light overtakes the dark. This sabbat, celebrated in ancient pagan and Wiccan traditions, marks the renewal of life, fertility, and the awakening of nature.

Named after the Germanic goddess Eostre, Ostara is the inspiration behind many modern Easter traditions, symbolizing rebirth, growth, and new beginnings. With flowers blooming, animals emerging from hibernation, and the earth brimming with potential, this is a time to step into the warmth of the sun and embrace the fresh energy of the season.

The tarot card associated with the Spring Equinox is the Queen of Wands. She beautifully represents Ostara’s vibrant and confident spirit. As a figure of charisma, passion, and creativity, she embodies the self-assurance and motivation needed to initiate this new cycle of growth. Just as nature boldly unfurls its blossoms without hesitation, the Queen of Wands encourages us to harness our inner fire, take inspired action, and acknowledge our personal power.

The equinox is a portal—one that allows us to shift from the introspective energies of winter to the outward expression of spring.

However, Ostara is not just about witnessing external changes, but also recognizing the stirrings of transformation within ourselves. Where in your life are you ready to plant new seeds of intention? Spring is a season of growth and vitality, and as we too are a part of nature, we are invited to participate in the process of the earth’s bloom and renewal.

Here are five ways to celebrate Ostara that honor the tradition of the season in our modern times.

Host an Ostara Gathering – Celebrate the Spring Equinox with friends or family by sharing a meal filled with seasonal foods like fresh greens, egg-based dishes, honey, fruit, teas, baked goods, etc.

Create an Ostara “Spring” Altar –Decorate with flowers, candles, eggs, crystals, statues, photos, etc.

Plant Seeds or Start a Garden – Symbolize new beginnings by planting flowers, herbs, or vegetables. Whether in a backyard garden or in a small pot indoors, nurturing new life aligns with the Spring energy of growth and renewal.

Sunrise or Outdoor Ritual – Connecting with nature doesn’t have to be complicated. Simply standing barefoot in the grass while setting an intention or lighting a candle at sunrise can be a powerful way to align with Ostara’s energy. For others, you may prefer something more involved, such as leaving offerings by a tree or creating an outdoor sacred space.

Creativity and Self-Expression – Channel the vibrant energy of the Spring by engaging in creative activities like painting, writing, dancing, or crafting. This can also include those little fun home projects that make your space feel fresh and alive, such as rearranging furniture, adding new décor, or creating a spring-inspired focal-point.

Spend Time in Nature – Go for a walk in the woods, a local park, or even your backyard. Put your phone on silent and observe the signs of spring—flowers blooming, birds singing, and the warmth of the sun. Breathe in the fresh air and simply ‘be’ for a while. Include others in your plans if you’d like, by inviting a few friends and making it a day out. You can bring a picnic with fresh, seasonal foods and enjoy spending the day in nature surrounded by people you care about.

For my crystal lovers: Spring is a season of renewal and growth. Many crystals resonate with this vibrant energy, but here are my top six suggestions:

*Green Aventurine: Known as the “Stone of Opportunity,” Green Aventurine is believed to attract prosperity and encourage personal growth, making it a top choice for spring’s themes of abundance and renewal.

*Rose Quartz: This crystal embodies love and compassion, gently healing the heart and opening it to new possibilities, aligning with the nurturing aspects of spring and Ostara.

*Sunstone: Associated with the energy of the sun, Sunstone is thought to inspire vitality, independence, and joy, qualities that harmonize beautifully with the invigorating spring season.

*Moss Agate: Most often linked to nature and new beginnings, Moss Agate is said to promote emotional balance, fertility, new growth and fresh starts – It’s a lovely stone that captures the essence of Ostara and the spring season.

*Aquamarine: With its serene blue hues, Aquamarine is believed to connect to the tranquility of water, gently aiding in emotional cleansing and renewal of the mind, body and spirit – central themes of spring.

*Clear Quartz: This crystal is renowned for its ability to amplify energy, clear the mind, and balance the chakras, making it an ideal crystal for Ostara’s themes of renewal, balance and growth.

Happy Ostara everyone! Have a great week! ❤
