Lunar Node Shift from Aries-Libra to Pisces-Virgo on 1/11/25

The North Node (Rahu) and South Node (Ketu), also known as the lunar nodes, represent points of destiny and karma in astrology.

The North Node, or the Dragon’s Head, symbolizes the future, growth, and the lessons we are here to learn in this lifetime. It’s the path of evolution, which more often than not, requires us to step out of our comfort zone – which is represented in the South Node.

The South Node, or the Dragon’s Tail, reflects past experiences, innate talents, and the wisdom of karmic lessons from previous lifetimes. The South Node gives us clues as to where we have been and what we need to reconcile or release for our soul’s advancement.

When the North Node moves into Pisces and the South Node shifts into Virgo on January 11th, the collective focus transitions from the Aries-Libra axis, that highlighted the “me versus we” polarity. This challenged us to navigate the complicated dynamics of individuality and partnerships, often sparking debates and controversy about personal autonomy versus the needs (and will) of others. While these themes will continue to be relevant throughout 2025 due to ongoing planetary influences, this new nodal shift will aid in fostering difficult but necessary conversations that pave the way for more harmonious dynamics in the future.

The Pisces-Virgo nodal axis invites us to bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual worlds. Every dream needs a solid plan to make it a reality (Virgo), and without dreams we would not have a reason to get up in the morning (Pisces). Pisces and Virgo meet in the middle through the shared motivation of making the world a better place.

This 18-month karmic cycle emphasizes spirituality, healing, and creativity, while at the same time, dealing with real-world challenges. The Pisces-Virgo lunar node shift encourages a shift in values – this polarity draws attention to healthcare, environmental stewardship, and our relationship with animals and the natural world, inviting humanity to reconnect with nature and to prioritize businesses, philosophies and systems that honor life in all its forms. Interestingly, we are already seeing signs of this energy in the spotlight as we witness the current public outcry for healthcare reform in the USA.

On a personal level, the Pisces-Virgo nodal axis in your natal chart signals a reorientation of priorities and a significant shift in focus. The house placements of this axis reveal the areas of life where you are being called to grow, heal, and establish a sustainable balance that honors both your spiritual and practical needs. For instance, if the North Node is in your 4th House (home, family, emotions), you may feel drawn to make changes to your living situation, set healthier personal boundaries, address unresolved family dynamics, explore your ancestry, or seek counseling to support your emotional growth and well-being.

Meanwhile, with the South Node in your 10th House (career, public persona), you may find yourself reassessing career goals, considering a vocational shift, or even relocating for a new job or a fresh start. Over the next 18 months, the boundary between your career and personal life may begin to blur, prompting you to make meaningful changes that align your work or career with your true self and priorities.

A new chapter: The Wheel of Fortune

This nodal shift is very similar to the energy of The Wheel of Fortune tarot card, which reminds us that life is always in motion and that change is essential for growth. They both signify a turning point and the start of a new chapter. We are being invited to adopt a more holistic perspective, both in our personal lives and in how we view the world. As the wheel of destiny shifts and turns, it encourages us to be open to new connections and exciting opportunities.

Think of this nodal shift as like being in a small boat on the ocean. While you do have a rudder to steer and have some control over your direction, you know in your heart that you can’t control the tide. This is Rahu (The Dragon’s head) in Pisces.
